The French National Energy & Climate Plan was launched in 2009 with the aim of achieving energy equilibrium by 2030. It aims to help reduce climate change, develop renewable energy, and manage energy consumption. It also includes air quality measures.
A major reception was held to relaunch and implement the plan in Occitanie.
An evening of talks and round table meetings looked back over the 10 years of energy policy, and highlighted the challenges of climate change. The Managing Director of the Grand Causses Regional Nature Reserve, Florent Tarisse, opened proceedings, during which a number of guests were given the chance to share their thoughts on the issue: Yann Arthus Bertrand gave a talk on climate change on a global scale and answered a range of questions from the audience; Jose Bové, MEP, and Alain Fauconnier, chairman of the nature reserve, also contributed to round table meetings.
